This presentation will showcase the University of Cincinnati Island in Second Life. Displays in the virtual world will show artifacts including documents, models, and conceptual art used in the planning stages of constructing the island presence; demonstrations of prototypes, open source, and reusable learning objects and spaces developed by the learning community; as well as working classrooms, tutorials, student projects, and other buildings and content on the island. Participants will be able to control a guest avatar, learn basic movements, and explore the campus environment first-hand with guidance by the facilitators.
