Sakai: An Emerging Technology or a Chinese Wine?


The use of Sakai in undergraduate and graduate English and education courses will be shared. The presenters
will present the different features of Sakai: announcements, assignments, blogger, chat room, discussion, e-mail
archive, gradebook, message center, resources, roster, site information, schedules, syllabus, and tests and quizzes
from Information Systems, faculty training, and teaching points of view. Each presenter will focus on one or two of
these features in Sakai and will discuss the impact of Sakai experiences on undergraduate and graduate students’
and faculty confidence and competence in the use of this electronic delivery system.
