Traditional blogging and podcasting systems assume that an author will constantly be publishing new content. However, what if an instructor wants to republish a course-specific podcast series each time a course is offered? "Serialized" podcasting allows an instructor to set a start date for the course and an update interval; the homegrown software then releases the files to students at the appropriate time. Instructors find this system more convenient than modifying each blog entry's published date.
