Social Networking for Dummies!

Social Networking for Dummies!, 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. - Magnolia
Matthew Evins, Coordinator, Ohio Learning Network Southwest Regional Center / Miami University

Students use Facebook to build connections and make friends with people from around the world, so why can’t professors? Ning, a social networking Website, is transforming the way learning communities share ideas and communicate with others around Ohio. With personal profiles, and the sharing of documents and media, online communities are moving to the forefront. This two-hour, hands-on workshop will give participants an in-depth look at a new form of communication that the Ohio Learning Network is using to enhance its learning communities.

Hello to everyone. I have attached the handout for this pre-conference session below. Please feel free to print it out and bring it with you. This session will consist of a short presentation followed by an in-depth conversation about various social networks. Bring any questions about the concept of social networks as well as thoughts about the ones you have used!
