Technically Speaking (Ohio is Moving Forward)This is a featured page

Although 100% of adults learn differently, nearly 30-50% have some learning difficulty and about 8-10% of adults have a learning disability. The session, based on workshops created by Ohio Initiative for Persons with Learning Disabilities (OIPLD), will review a basic definition of learning disabilities, visual and auditory processing issues and present low-cost, effective ways to deal with these issues in the adult learner classroom and workplace. Demonstrations of low-tech and high-tech solutions will provide attendees with an opportunity for hands-on participation. A guide to statewide resources will be included in the training handouts.
Learning Outcomes Participants will: · identify different types of learning disabilities, VPD, APD · describe the benefits of mulitsensory instruction · list examples of low and hi-tech adaptations for students and workers
